COMMISSIONING
Commissioning a custom project is an exciting and rewarding experience for both client and the designer-maker. Jim will take you from seeing initial design sketches to revealing a unique piece of fine woodworking.
DESIGN PROCESS
Jim closely involves our clients in the design process in order to achieve their specific requirements. They are welcome to visit the workshop while their commission is in the process of being made giving them the opportunity to see their dreams become reality.
How to Commission a Project
The process might start with a phone call to our office to arrange an appointment with Jim. This meeting could take place at the location for the proposed piece and will involve a detailed discussion regarding the specific requirements of the commission.
DESIGN PROPOSAL
Jim will discuss timbers, style, function, budget and other requirements of the piece. A further meeting is arranged at which an initial design proposal will be made. This will contain drawings, samples, quotations and details of what you can expect from your commission.
DESIGN APPROVAL
On approval of the design, Jim will discuss final details and agree on a delivery date with the client.
At this stage, a financial commitment is required from the client.
